TOGETHER, WE CAN BE THE DIFFERENCE

TOGETHER, WE CAN BE THE DIFFERENCE !!

Today I heard a story and I was heartbroken,

I was devastated by the story my Personal Assistant, Christian told me about a young boy whom he met on his way to work this morning at the bus stop. The boy, dressed in a school uniform said he needed money to buy a math-set. Christian took it upon himself to engage him in a conversation. Christian discovered that this boy was a school prefect designate and needed N200 to buy a mathematical set, but didn’t have it.

After speaking to him, and also encouraging and inspiring him, Christian discovered that this boy had been at the bus stop for a while; pleading and begging other people who paid little or no attention to him; until Christian arrived.

I was so excited by what Christian did, but then I was also quite devastated,

Why?

- I am devastated that a school prefect designate had no simple math-set to use.
- I was terribly worried that among the people the boy had been meeting, no one was patient enough to listen, and if they listened, they weren’t bothered enough to help.

After thinking this through, I believe this is why God has given me favour, and to have you as my honoured fan, therefore making it possible for us to team up in furtherance of this great cause.
I want this not just to be a celebration of Fela Durotoye, but a celebration of every one who can make a great difference even in the life of others.

I want to throw a challenge that may require everyone to do great things, but will not put a heavy burden on anyone of us. I want you to, in the next one week do the following;

1. Wherever you are in the world, find and talk to a child, a student or even group of students who needs encouragement. You don’t need 24 hours to do this; you do not need to take 24 hours to find a child to tell him there's greatness is in him/her. Just deliver a message from us to him/her.

“You can be great, you must be great, and you will be great.
You can deliver the future- you can, you must, you will. ”

That is the core of the message, choose your own words, your convenience, but make the message count in someone’s life.

2. Invest in their future. It doesn’t have to be school fees- it could be as small as a math-set (N250), an exercise book (N50) or even a pencil (10) and biro (N20). Just commit as small as N200 to buying something of value to help his future.
Imagine what 2500 fans making a difference with NGN200 each will do in the lives of these young ones. Even though NGN 200 will not hurt you as a person, we have a growing social capital within our fan base from which we can draw half a million naira a week for a good cause. YOU CAN BE THE DIFFERENCE! Little keys open big doors.

3. Share your experience with me. Like Pastor Paul Adefarasin said last Sunday,” I’m not asking you to do good for the show of it, but there’s nothing wrong in showing that you are doing good”. It’s amazing what doing good does to us and not just the person we are helping.

Post your experience on my facebook page  or on www.feladurotoye.org with the name(s) of the children you helped, I would not mind if you have a picture or a video illustrating your experience. If not, a picture is good enough.

4. The greatest reward is the joy of making a difference in someone’s life, in addition to that, I will also be nominating some of the entries for a lunch meeting with me alongside anyone of their choice. I will invest my time with them, asking and answering questions, and making useful contributions, which will help them navigate their way to the top of their chosen career.

This is the thought in my heart that has become a thorn in my soul.
It will not leave me until we do something about it

Thanks for believing in me, and together, we can BE THE DIFFERENCE.

DELIVER THE FUTURE

i am encouraged and challenged to do more and get more young Nigerians like
ourselves doing more. i will also just like to add that Nigerians are not used
to community service and volunteer work. i think more of that should be
encouraged.

I tried 2 place orders for your books but I wasn't able to, via a UK
address.
please reply asap as I really need to have them by the 25th of April
and invest them in my younger ones lives, they have got exams coming
up.

yeah, I intend 2 begin school in the park this summer !! if I had all my
basic needs sorted for eternity, the only things I want to do, is help, and be
there for those that need: companionship, mentorship e.g career and relationship
wise (both on a friendship basis and with the opposite sex), spiritual, moral
and education backing/support/pushing...

I believe my gifts will make room
for me and that I will, by each passing day realise more and more of what I
enjoy doing!!

YOUR QUOTES ARE REALLY INSPIRING BY THE WAY!!
