Visible Impact, Oando, others donate 4,000 free Maths sets, books to students

As part of efforts to help students achieve better results in the on-going Senior School Certificate Examinations, Visible Impact in conjunction with other organisations has facilitated the donation of over four thousand Mathematical sets and Four Figure Tables to secondary school students in District Four of Lagos State. The donations were courtesy of well meaning organisations like Oando Plc, Kowa Party and Temple of Praise International Church, Louisiana, U.S.A towards the cause to help Revive Academic excellence In our Schools and Educational institutions (R.A.I.S.E). Receiving the donations, Chief Inspiration Officer of Visible Impact, Mr. Fela Durotoye thanked the orgainsations for their visionary approach to education, stressing that "great organisations are built on foresight". According to him, in the next few years, the workforce that will be available to employers will be the students that are presently in schools, hence the need to pay attention to them now. The student beneficiaries had words of adulation for the organisations, promising to do their best to deliver excellent results. Simeon Enock, 17, a student of Eric Moore Senior High School, thanked Visible Impact, Oando Plc, Kowa Party and Temple of Praise International Church for their support. Enock who hopes to study Theatre Arts at the University of Ilorin said, "on behalf of myself and other students, I am promising that we will do our best in the exams". School principal, Mr. Orenike also expressed gratitude to the organisations and the volunteer teachers on the Project RAISE One million for helping to support the efforts of the school towards reviving academic excellence in the school. The students have also been undergoing intensive revision classes courtesy of the Project RAISE One million team in schools under District Four, including Surulere Girls Secondary School, Eric Moore Senior High School, Government College Lagos, Itolo Girls Secondary School, State Grammar School, Lagos City Senior School amongst others.
