school closing ceremony organised by the firstlady of Lagos state, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola.
Fela Durotoye gives a talk to the Children that attended the LEARN summer school closing ceremony. During his talk he said that one of the attribute of Great leaders is their ability to learn when no one is teaching them. The ways to do this are to
1. Read
2. Observe
3. To ask questions
4. To try it out
During the course of the Summer school, the laws contained in Fela Durotoye's book the 17 secrets of high flying students were taught to the students and here are some of the testimonies from the benefiting students
ENIOLA ADINLEWA
SS3B
ABESAN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL II
This book has motivated me in such
a way that I was able to
·discover myself and what I can do best,
·knowing my reading style that produces my best
result,
·how to master myself and master my result.
From this book I was able to
understand that the best and greatest discovery ever made is the discovery of
self and there is no one like me because I am the true and original of myself.
Therefore, I appreciate what makes me unique and I use it to get the positive
greatest result I deserve.
I have learnt to appreciate my
parents, teachers, classmates when I read through the law of appreciation
because an attitude of gratitude can take me to the highest altitude.
Lastly, the law which I called
the most important is the law of the supernatural. This is because you can’t do
without God and we need his support to achieve your aim with good grades.
Beyond study, wisdom and knowledge, the grace of God enhances your grades.
AJANI ADEBAYO
I have learnt as many things as
possible from the book, 17 Secrets of High Flying Students authored by Mr. Fela
Durotoye. The first thing I learnt was that you have to decide on what you want
to become in future and that you have to work towards. I also learnt to focus
on what I want to become and how I can pass all my forth coming examination. I
also learnt to be appreciative as this saying goes “anything you don’t
appreciate will depreciate”.
AKINMOLADUN BUKOLA
These are some of the things that
Bukola wrote with respect to what she learnt from the book:
·Distraction: is the enemy of success. When you
are distracted you will fail. Distraction brings about failure to you.
·Hindsight: You must have at least three years
past questions before starting your examinations. By doing these you are going
to have good grades.
·Focus: Focus creates blindness which means when
you are focused on something, you are blind to distractions.
·Supernatural: is the most important of all. Put
God first in all things you do. Before starting your examination you should
pray that God should help you to remember all what you have read. And pray that
nothing should stop you from doing your examination.
AYANGBAYI MICHAEL
To be focused is to be determined
on what is necessary to be done. It is more than a decision, it is being
determined. If you don’t decide you cannot be focused and believe you can do
it. Focus creats blindness to distractions around. You need focus to get what
you want. Distraction is an enemy of distinction.
